All of TAG’s systems, from individual products to total integrated solutions, follow a manufacturing process that incorporates both Cellular and Flow Production techniques, both of which are key features for the lean manufacturing floor. The cellular production process utilizes groups of workstations or “cells” that are assigned distinct but concurrent tasks so that a product can be progressively moved from one workstation to another without any delays or additional handling. On the TAG manufacturing floor these cells are dedicated to processes, sub-components, or entire products; and each is conducive to single-piece and one-touch manufacturing methods. Utilizing flow production, units are worked upon in stages and then moved immediately to the next stage. Achieving this smooth and efficient production flow requires thorough and extensive pre-production planning to ensure that raw materials are purchased, delivered, and placed; and that sufficient labor is acquired and trained. To further streamline the TAG manufacturing process and ensure a high-level of quality at each and every step, TAG implements self-inspection principles at each phase of the manufacturing process. Products are assembled and tested, often at the component level, and each product is marked with traceability to the representative that produced the item. The collaboration of these processes in yields quick turnarounds of highly reliable, cost-effective solutions.
