Creating a Logical Drive

This set up is based on 10 drives total. 9 in the RAID array, and 1 as a Global Spare.

Select “View and Edit Logical Drive.”

Hit ENTER on LG0.
Create Logical Drive? Yes.
Select RAID 5

Drive Selection Screen:

Select Drives by hitting ENTER. Arrow up or down to select other drives. In this manner, select drives 1-9.
Hit escape to CONFIRM.
Hit escape to CONFIRM again.
Verify information and select YES.
The Drives will now initialize.
Hit escape to acknowledge message. You should now see the Initialization Progress Bar.
Hit escape when initialization.

YOU MUST NOW MAP THE HOST LUN

Select “View and Edit Host Luns.”

Select CH0 ID4 (Primary Controller).
Hit Enter.
Select Logical Drive (In this case, LG0).
Hit Enter.
A Status Window will open. Hit Enter.
PARTITION-0, OFFSET-0, SIZE – (Will reflect size of Logical Drive)
Hit Enter.
Select “Map Host Lun”.
Hit Enter.
Status Window will open. Verify settings.
Select YES. Hit Enter.
Hit escape to go back to main menu.
Controller LCD should no longer display “NO HOST LUNS”.
